Mike and I both brought our cams with us on Vaca, right now, all I have uploaded are some of the pics that I took.

We really lucked out coming to Florida. First, we got a great deal on the house that we were staying at (FREE!), and we managed to make it down here alive...driving for 20 hours straight.

We left Belle Mead, NJ on Wednesday morning at about 4:30 and arrived in Kissimmee, FL at about 12:20am on Tuesday. (having hit a ton of traffic in MD and stopping along the way, we missed our original target by approx 3 hours.)

Thursday - we rested

Friday - we went to Epcot at about 7:30am, and did the Around the World Segway tour. It was awesome!! (to say the least). Mike and I looked like complete dorks wearing our helmets riding 2 wheelers in the standing position, but it's was probably one of the best experiences we had while down here. It was so nice to see everything at Epcot without the crowds. Our tour group of 10 ppl were the only ones on the grounds besides the staff prepping the park. (If you go to Disney, spend the $85 it costs to take this tour and DO IT!!)
The only issue with this was that it was FREEZING down here. There was a cold-front that came in, it apparently hit NJ as well with abt 6" of snow. Down here it was about 40-50 degrees, so speeding along the water on Segways at approx 6mph, we nearly froze to death. I should've brought a thick down jacket, some earmuffs and some gloves, but who knew. We ate lunch at Nine Dragons (Chinese) and dinner at a Mexican Cafe on the water (still freezing) because all the restaurants were completely booked for dinner that evening. The firework & lazer show on the water was quite awe-inspiring, although also VERY VERY COLD!!!
The best ride at this park, I would have to say, was Mission:SPACE. Mike might say otherwise though. It's definitely the most 'thrilling' of all the rides. Def not recommended for youngin's, though there were some on it.

Saturday - Mike & I went to the Kennedy Space Center and explored a bit of NASA.

Sunday - We went to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure & City Walk. We got there pretty early, and we had bought our tickets ahead of time, as recommended, and we also bought the 'fast pass' ticket. The park was DEAD. We got on every ride we wanted to get on, with no wait so we really didn't need the fast-pass. Since we did all of Universal Studios within about 4 hours including a half hour getting a Characterture done, we managed to make it over to Islands of Adventure and complete that entire park by 5pm. We also made reservations for Dinner @ Emeril's and Margheritaville in City Walk. We made 2 b/c we wanted an option. Emeril's was WAY expensive, meals around $35-40 and since all I would eat is veggies, it didn't make much sense to do that, so Margheritaville it was. It had a great nite-life. Fun band and decent food, (GREAT PRICES TOO!!!) meals approx $12-15.

Monday - (That's today) we are resting and spending most of our time (now abt 4 hours) at Panera's, uploading pics, checking work emails and eating.

Tuesday - We will be going to Animal Kingdom, and at the rate we're going, we may get the whole park done in about 3 hours, so we might head over to a Manatee habitat.

Wednesday - if we don't go to the Manatee thingy then we will go into Old Town Kissimmee or rest up for our trip back to NJ. We get to the Auto-Train at about 2pm, get our car loaded and all our stuff onto the train and settle in for our 18 hr ride to VA, where we will then drive the rest of the way to NJ in some Turkey Day traffic.

We also did some exploring of International Drive, but to me, honestly... it's not as exciting as it seems, maybe because I'm used to going into NYC (which is way more exciting).

All-in-all, we are having a really good time out here, barring some complications with the former property manager (really no big deal) and the fact that it's a bit cold.

This is probably the best time of year for families to discover/explore Disney, Universal and ALL the theme parks in the area.

We followed some 'plans / daily guidelines' for tackling the parks and had no problems at all with lines or anything else.

We probably walked a total of about 60-70 miles thus far. More to come tomorrow.

Ewww
Mike @ Panera

Mike and I are sitting at Panera, b/c it's the only place we seem to get internet service while down here in Florida.

We happen to be the lucky two seated next to a European couple grossly making out, noises and all.
Yumm-oh. Quite the attraction for diners.

It's Sunny In Florida

We thought this picture was hillarious, it was taken outside at NASA.
You can see the shadow of my hand blocking the sun from my eyes as I took the picture. Sorry Mike.

I laugh everytime I see this.

Florida here we come!!!
November 13, 2007
We are headed to Kissimmee tomorrow morning.
We are driving, alllllllllllllll the way down, with no overnight stays.
We are leaving at 4am and hope to arrive before 8pm, but we shall see, depending on how tired we get. Neither of us have driven that far before.

This is where we will be staying : Casa Bonita

Mike worked very hard on a senior project while at NJIT and the person he was doing the project for owns rental property in Florida. She offered 1 week to Mike as a thank you for all his hard work. YAY MIKE!!!

We will be gone on 11/14 and will be back just in time for Thanksgiving.

We are taking the Auto-Train up from FL, on 11/21 and it drops us off in VA on 11/22. Then we will try our best to drive through some D.C. Rush hour for the holiday...

It should be an adventure.

Archiving takes forever!!
November 6, 2007
I've been spending my nights trying to scan and upload really old photographs that my dad just gave to me and my sisters.

My goal is to put them on CD's and some 8mm film onto DVD and give copies to everyone in the family.

So far, 3 days -- only 42 pics scanned. Damnit.
