Fun weekend.
October 25, 2009
This weekend was a fun one.

Yesterday, we spent the day with my niece. It was rainy, but we still had fun. We went to a local music store so I could buy a practice mute for my viola, and my niece wound up buying a beginners piano practice book.
She's 6 years old and loves the piano, and REALLY wants to learn how to read the notes. I'm in awe of that.

Took my niece back home today, then went horseback riding with some friends at Echo Lake Stables. It was an hour ride through the woods and we even got in some good trotting with some of the beginners riding along :-).

After riding a couple of us decided to go to a shooting range.

Mike and I had never gone before but decided to take advantage of the days gorgeous weather and spend it outside ;-). It was a bit of a drive to the Sunset Hill Range, but it was worth it.

We had a blast - no pun intended ;-)

Here are some photos from the shooting range (horseback riding to come later)

This is the first gun Mike ever shot.
An M16A1 Assault Rifle. Same one from Scarface ;-)

Mike shooting a Baby Eagle (9mm) Handgun

Mike shooting a Sniper Rifle.

 Me shooting a hand-gun.

Me shooting a Sniper Rifle. (my fav of the day)

Mike & Me with our targets. He's a good shot, but I got one in the groin ;)

Oh man.
October 24, 2009
I have 461 blogline feeds to read.

that.is.insane.

I don't know how I'll catch up, but I can't believe how work has just totally torn me apart from the rest of my life, and I've only worked for 7 days so far.

It's nice getting back into the daily-grind, and I'm lucky enough to say I did take advantage of the 7 months off and had a chance to enjoy myself while it lasted.

I made a lot of plans while I wasn't working, and have booked most of my weekends. It is killing me now, since I have already accrued 20+ hours of overtime in the past week and wanted to use those weekends to catch up on sleep and, well, life in general.

Tomorrow we're going horse-back riding with some friends...then it's time for my 14 hour nap.
Then maybe, I'll try to find some time to visit fellow bloggers and read-up.

Spooky Crap.
October 16, 2009
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Mainly because it's a low-stress holiday. (That is also why I love Easter). No gifts to buy for people, no worrying if they will like them, no post-holiday stress trying to pay off the credit card you used to purchase said gifts.

Easter - I know I will always spend it with family. YAY

Thanksgiving is the same, however, I don't consider it low-stress b/c it's soo close to Christmas that my stress-pattern overlaps.

Halloween is great, you can dress up and it doesn't matter WHAT you look like.

My younger sis is hosting a Halloween party and I'm PSYCHED about it. Halloween parties are the BEST EVER. I helped her pick out some decorations & costumes and helped decorate her house. FUUUN

Here's a taste --

That's my sis, looking spooky. And blood on the wall.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
October 13, 2009
I have been away from the blogging world b/c I become seriously consumed by all that is FarmVille on Facebook. I have never wanted to farm so bad in my life. It's addicting. So addicting that while out at my inlaws for dinner, I left the dinner table to go harvest some strawberries before they wilted. God forbid, right?

Mike recently started playing FV too. Our conversations now mostly consist of what animals we've adopted, how our crops are growing or how we helped each others farms out by weeding, removing gophers, fox or crows.

Ah, the simple things.

Besides that of which has been most consuming, Mike's grandmother passed away. We went to the wake on Saturday and they had a nice service for her. She was a lovely woman and will be missed.

And -- I got a job. The only reason I'm not so totally psyched is b/c I had no 'great' offers the past 7 months and all of a sudden I'm getting 'semi-decent' ones. Seriously, I've gotten 4 potential offers in the past week. I decided on 1. However, I'm still waiting for that golden-ticket offer that I would take without hesitation.

CHALLENGE : 200 Words or Less
October 6, 2009
The Challenge :
Write your next 10 blog posts with no more than 200 words, but no less than 125.
The word count DOES NOT include Quotes/Blockquotes, Photos, spaces, line breaks, etc...
You can use this free online word count tool to count how many words are in your post.

This one, is going to be hard. Not only because it's only 200 words (because sometimes I like to rant), but because there is also a minimum limit of 125 words.

Should be interesting....

Anyone else willing to give this one a try?
