My boys ....
It's 12:15am, and I can't stop... My eyelids are so heavy right now, but my brain is crazy active.
I should've eaten some turkey tonight to get me sleepin' quicker!! These two had their fill... apparently.

Baby, it's cold outside.

This is a picture of the frost on the driver's side window of the car that I took while I was driving to work this morning. And that, was a run-on sentence.

I edited it a little bit to try and see the detail of the flakes -- it's hard to see. You can click on the photo for a better image. I used my tiny sony digi cam today, it's not as great as the other I use, but it's handy.

Here is the original pic.

I'm easy to please...
Please don't think 'dirty' when you see the title of this post, and then the image below...

I consider myself easy to please, because it's things like this Pinocchio doll-thing that make me happy.

I don't know what it is, maybe it's the expression on his face, or that he's easy to keep around because he's not-a-real-boy.

I bought this Pinocchio in Sicily (2007). When I walked into one of the gift shops off-the-beaten-path, we were greated by about 20-30 of these little guys hanging from the ceiling (see the springy-thingy behind him). I pulled on one and it bounced up and down and I became elated. I don't remember how much we paid for him, but hell, it was worth it.

He's not hanging from our ceiling now, he just sits in our kitchen... wherever. But trust me, when we move, I am going to find a new spot in our house to hang him ... Oooooh I'm so excited just thinking about it.

*boing* *boing* *boing*

(ps: I took this picture in my kitchen with all the lights on. Pinocchio was sitting on my counter, and I set camera mode to Macro and the color to Sephia. I also turned the flash on. I shaded the top of the flash with my hand and got the rounded spotlight effect.)

Books
November 19, 2008

Is reading 6 books at once considered a symptom of ADD?

I have never been one to focus on reading one book at a time. Though some books I've read are great, there are points in them that are just plain boring. When I reach those points, I take a break and pick up a different book and read it until I hit one of the boring points there. And so on and so on.
I like to have multiple books at hand because I like to read things that I'm in the 'mood' for. Some days I like drama, something with a twist, a love story, or a comedy... something dark, and something intriguing, books with quotes, a biography, or even something scientific (I LOVE books about the brain.)

Anyway -- above is a pic of what I'm reading now... It seems like a lot, and actually, I think it's the most I've ever read at one time before... however, I was thinking of picking up Marley and Me tomorrow. I want to try and breeze through it so I can watch the movie.

I'm off to go read a bit of Getting Rid of Matthew now.

P.S. - just saw Madagascar 2 - it was definitely better than the first. I realize that I tend to cackle when I am really amused by something. Since the theater was almost empty, my laugh cackle echoed. It was liberating...

My first shoot!!!
November 16, 2008
My younger sis, Renee, got engaged on 11/7/08. Congrats lil sis!!!

I offered to do her engagement photo session even though I have no experience doing portrait like photos at all.

I am so proud of how well I did, that I have to brag a little bit!! I took about 300 photos in about an hour and visited 2 local parks. We came out with about 130+ photos that were really decent.

Below are only a few shots I took, but feel free to check out the rest of them here : My Flickr Photopage

(P.S. it is hard to edit the photos brightness etc b/c of my current display -- let me know what you think, they look dark on some screens and normal on others. :-( waaah )

After a long day...
November 13, 2008

This is me, after a long day of crap - just got home.
Feelin' like poop.

This face that I make - I make it all the time. I have chipmunk cheeks...weird. I look like I'm waiting for something. Yanno -- if I close my mouth, I look mad, and I can't really close my mouth, b/c my upper lip is so highly arched, that it looks funny when my bottom lip meets it and I can't manage to move my upper lip down without looking like a tart.

Dyed my hair black on Halloween -- can you even tell?!

Stewie's got frog...
November 12, 2008
Tonight, I sat on my @$$ and watched Family guy, ate some veggie egg rolls, an ice cream cone and blogged.

Cher, this one's for you!!

I can't stop laughing, b/c it's too perfect. I didn't even know what I was watching b/c I was too focused on getting the camera to stay still... and when I saw the shot -- well. It's priceless.

DSC03516

Peeps. My boy. He's almost 3.5 yrs. old. I love him.

We gave him a mohawk cut. He's been growing it for about a month now -- i didn't like the way it was looking, really I don't think anyone was pro mohawk besides me.

So, I cut most of it off, and just left the front. I call it the bon-bon.

It's taking me forever!!!
November 5, 2008
Thank you's --- well, it's been over a month since we've been married, and I still haven't gotten to my Thank you's --

I've been waiting for my pics to come in.
Now that my pics are in -- I can start making my thank you's ---

I originally was going to buy them from my photog, but was told it could take an additional 2-3 weeks, so...alas... I am making them myself .

I am using one of my proofs and creating photo thank you cards -- hopefully, they turn out decent.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
November 4, 2008
SARAH PALIN: Before it got to the other side, I shot the chicken, cleaned and dressed it, and had chicken burgers for lunch.

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now and will remain against it.

AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken doesn't realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his current problems before adding new problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken 2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken 2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never crash or need to be rebooted.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

Did I mention - as of 11/2/08 - I'm no longer a vegetarian. I took my first bite of chicken in over a year... I've had more cravings for chicken in the past year than anything I've ever had. It has been a very hard road to travel -- I tried my best. To some, my best may not be good enough. I'm sorry. But, all the decisions I made along the way, I made for myself, for my beliefs... I had no bad transition back to meat, so I was thankful for that...though the thoughts of the video I once saw that pushed my switch keep popping into my mind... Alas, chicken is back on the menu.
- I was vegetarian for 401 days.
